Justin Nash Fisher

My friend, Justin, who is a transcendent singer-songwriter, entrusted me with some visuals for his new music.

The first is the album art for ‘Desperate Lonely’. Justin had a vision of a Bosch-esque collage that was rich in symbolism from the album. I pulled imagery from his lyrics and his life story. I used a combination of Blender and Photoshop to create this world in which the viewer can get lost and find new easter eggs each time they look. Seeing as this whole composition is a representation of Justin’s inner-world, I also thought it would be both fun and poignant to hide a bunch of “Justins” in the scene, in almost a tongue-in-cheek ‘Where’s Waldo’ fashion. Total maximalism!

The second asset was single art, both moving and static, for his single “Things I Can’t Have”. Justin creates these wonderful childlike doodles that he wanted to incorporate into his visuals. I brought scans of his drawings into After Effects and animated them to appear as if they were being drawn on and then brought to life. I then created a Drost Effect in which the canvas becomes an infinite loop.
