My friend Justin, a transcendent singer-songwriter, entrusted me with creating visuals for his new album "Desperate Lonely.”

We started with Justin’s concept – a Bosch-esque collage rich in symbolism from the album. Pulling imagery from lyrics and his life story, I used both Blender and Photoshop to create an immersive world in which the viewer easily gets lost - and can also discover Easter eggs when looking deeper.  As the composition tried to convey Justin’s inner world, I included a few “Justins,” in Where’s Waldo fashion. Total maximalism!

The second set of creatives included static and motion graphics for the new single “Things I Can’t Have.” Justin wanted to incorporate the wonderful childlike doodles he draws. I used scans of the drawings in After Effects and animated them to appear as if they were being drawn on and then brought to life. Then, I deployed a Drost Effect so that the whole canvas became an infinite loop.  It was super fun to work on these projects to support Justin’s great music!
